HELP Portrait Project

CATAWBA VALLEY CAMERA CLUB ANNOUNCES THE COMPLETION OF THE HELP PORTRAIT PROJECT

The Portrait Project of the Catawba Valley Camera Club was held at the Corner Table in Newton, NC on the morning of July 14, 2012. It was a part of the international Help-Portraits. This organizations finds someone that needs a portrait, takes the portrait, prints the portrait and gives it to the person at no charge.

On July 14, 2012 17 volunteers from CVCC along with 4 volunteers from the Corner Table and a makeup artist volunteer, Teresa Perkins, from Mary Kay Cosmetics came together at The Corner Table at 9:00 AM. An estimated 45 clients began arriving at 10:00 AM. They were greeted and registered. An assigned guide took them to the make-up if they desired, and then to one of two professional photographers with a studio set up. Four to ten pictures were taken. The client then viewed the pictures on a computer screen and selected the one they liked best. This selected portrait will be printed 8X10 size and returned to the Corner Table for client pickup in two weeks. There is no charge for the portrait. The portraits were of individuals, couples, and family groups as desired.

The clients were pleased and the volunteers had a good time.

The enclosed photos were taken by CVCC member Doreen Sugierski.
