Oktoberfest

10/09/2004 - Oom Pah

Hickory’s annual Oktoberfest celebration begins on Friday around noon on Union Square and in the downtown area.  There are always lots of great photo opportunities here, so I hope to see a few of you wandering around peering through your lenses đŸ™‚

Note from the President…

CV Camera Club Members:

  • Thanks to all who brought animal photos and to Ed Lane and Bob Phipps for handling the sale.  I am sorry we did not sell but one photo, but glad that we have one more chance to meet the public and to cooperate with the Art Museum.
  • The task force planning the Digital Photography for Youth at the Library   1-3 PM Saturday October 20 is well on the way to a fine presentation.  They have chosen photos as examples, made plans for the session and are preparing a handout.  We will have fliers  at the meetings.   Youth 13-17 may call 304-0500 Ext 7271 for information or registration.
  • CVCC CLUB MEETING: October 3  7:30.   It’s Info night with a special presentation by Pam Barbour on her photo trip to Antarctica.  See you there.
  • FIELD TRIP TO OLD SALEM: October 6.   Meet at Science Center (near meeting room door) at 8:30 AM.
  • FIELD TRIP TO HART SQUARE: October 27 – On your own – you must have ordered tickets.   We will take time at the meeting to organize car pools.

Attention ALL camera club members:

Beginning with the August 15th meeting, we will be posting the winning images on the club website.  Robert Dant will be providing the digital projection images to me for use on the website, so there is no additional work required of you to make that happen.  When we have print competitions, it will be YOUR responsibility to email me digital versions of your photos (winners only) to have them published on the website.  These images must be emailed to me within 48 hours of the competition.  Since competitions are on Wednesday night, I must receive the images by Friday night in order to get them published.  I will be posting the winners on the website two days after each meeting, or sooner if I get them earlier.

These winning images will become part of a photo gallery on the website as well.  There will be two galleries.  The first gallery will contain winning images, and the second gallery will contain photos submitted to me from club field trips.

All images submitted to me must be in the SAME format as required by the digital projection guidelines.

Please email your images to john@setzler.net as soon as you have them available.
